Options & Accessories: A Legacy of Support & Flexibility

Strength and durability have always defined Valley Design table bases. As we celebrate 40 years of innovation in 2026, we reflect on one milestone that greatly expanded our product line—introducing the options and accessories that have evolved into today’s full suite of flexible, functional options.

Expanding Customer Choice

Valley Design Price List 1996 Cover

The release of the 1996 Price Book marked the first time we offered options and accessories designed to improve the usability, support, and adaptability of our table bases. Many of these early additions were developed for our original 101 Series, known today as the Tubular Series, which quickly became a trusted base solution and continues to stand the test of time.

Our First Additional Base Options

Within the 1996 Price Book were several optional features that could be added to the table base to give users more flexibility and functionality, such as:

  • Options & Accessories Blog, First Additional Base OptionsBullnose End Caps – Originally offered as an all-welded option, this feature evolved into a durable molded nylon plastic design that maintains a clean, finished look while improving manufacturing efficiency.
  • Casters – A 2″ diameter caster option, available in both locking and non-locking versions, provides customers with added mobility and makes reconfiguring spaces easier.
  • Cantilever Offset Option – By moving the column of an endbase 3″ from the center of the main bar, we increase legroom and improve accessibility.
  • Flip Top Mounting Plate & Genu-Fold Mechanism – These solutions allow work surfaces to flip or fold easily for storage and transport, helping customers maximize space in multi-use environments without sacrificing durability.

Our First Accessories

The same 1996 Price Book also introduced Valley Design’s first table base accessories, designed to provide additional tabletop support and long-term performance:

  • Options & Accessories Blog, First Accessories Wall Mount Cantilever – Still available in the same size options as when first introduced, this solution provides dependable wall-supported stability while preserving open legroom beneath the work surface.
  • Angle Mounting Bracket – Originally offered in one size (1.5″ x 1.5″ x 10″), this versatile bracket now also comes in a compact 1.5″ x 1.5″ x 2″ option, providing a simple, economical way to add reinforcement where needed.
  • Anti-Sag Support Bar – First offered in 6′, 8′, 10′, and 12′ lengths, this essential support now includes eight lengths with optional end caps and mounting screws for fast, easy installation.

Evolving to Meet Changing Needs

While these options and accessories were introduced decades ago, they remain a key part of our product offerings today. Over time, they’ve been refined with improved designs, materials, and expanded sizes to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

At the same time, Valley Design continues to innovate—developing new options and accessories that enhance flexibility, improve performance, and support diverse environments from classrooms and offices to healthcare and hospitality spaces.

While our table base options and accessories have grown and evolved over time, one thing has never changed: every Valley Design product is engineered with the customer in mind. Our goal remains the same today as it was in 1996: to deliver solid, well-designed, and expertly manufactured solutions that reliably support your clients’ table base needs.
