Sometimes, one investment changes everything.
When Valley Design purchased its first Mazak laser in 2004, it wasn’t simply adding another piece of equipment to the shop floor. It was investing in new capabilities, greater precision, and the opportunity to expand our product offerings. That decision paved the way for one of Valley Design’s longest running and most recognizable product families: the Laser Series.
More than 20 years later, the Laser Series continues to offer the same clean design, dependable performance, and versatility that made it a customer favorite from the very beginning.
Building the Laser Series
Queen Anne Base (2005)
The Laser Series made its debut in 2005 with the Queen Anne base. Though this base was retired in 2010, it set the tone for what the series would become, pairing the precision of laser manufacturing with clean, timeless styling.
Tapered Laser Base (2005)
Additionally, the Tapered Laser base was introduced in 2005 to offer a more streamline tapered base design. Before its retirement in 2012, it gave customers another distinctive design option while continuing the same commitment to quality craftsmanship and modern aesthetics.
Raptor Base (2006)
By 2006, the Laser Series was continuing to gain momentum. The Raptor base brought a bold new look to the lineup with its laser cut components and all welded design, its popularity eventually led it to branch off into a product series all its own.
304 Base (2007)
Then, Valley Design introduced what would become one of the most popular bases in the entire Laser Series: the 304 base.
Its clean, understated appearance has helped make it a favorite across a wide variety of environments. Featuring a flat ½-inch by 2-inch steel main bar with rounded ends, the 304 offers a sleek, low-profile look that complements the tabletop rather than competing with it. It’s available in single-column, double-column, and X-base configurations, making it a natural fit for corporate offices, classrooms, healthcare facilities, hospitality spaces, and countless other applications.
The 304 base doesn’t just look good, it performs just as well. A solid ½-inch thick steel main bar provides a stable foundation that helps eliminate unwanted movement, while end bases utilize a 2-inch diameter column and X-base models feature a larger 3-inch diameter column for additional support. It’s a dependable design built to stand up to everyday use.
306 Base (2011)
With the 304 firmly established as a customer favorite, Valley Design expanded the series once again in 2011 with the 306 base. Featuring the same streamlined design philosophy but with a squared-off main bar, the 306 gave customers another clean, contemporary option while maintaining the strength and reliability the Laser Series is known for.
