While our customers are located across the country, our roots remain firmly planted in southeastern Minnesota. Founded by four local individuals who grew up in the Fountain, Minnesota area, Valley Design has never lost sight of the community that helped shape who we are.
Since our start in 1986, we’ve grown alongside the people and organizations that surround us. From creating career opportunities to supporting local schools and families, we believe being a successful manufacturer means being an active member of the community we call home.
Rooted in Our Community
Our employees are at the heart of everything we do. Nearly 80 team members come to work at Valley Design each day, with the majority living right here in Fillmore County. By providing stable, rewarding careers close to home, we give local families opportunities to build meaningful careers while strengthening the communities where we live and work.
But, the impact of our team extends beyond our facility. Our employees support local businesses, schools, and organizations every day, helping create a stronger and more connected community.
Investing in the Next Generation
Building a stronger community also means investing in the people who will shape its future. Each summer, Valley Design welcomes 15–20 local high school students to help during our seasonal production needs. This summer program gives students hands-on manufacturing experience while helping us meet increased demand.
For many students, this is their first opportunity to see modern manufacturing in action and explore career paths they may not have previously considered.
Our commitment to education continues throughout the year. Valley Design partners with local schools by hosting manufacturing tours and introducing students to opportunities within the industry. Through collaborations with schools and OEM suppliers, we’ve also helped furnish classrooms with desks, tables, and lecterns that create better learning environments for students and educators.
Supporting Our Neighbors
Our commitment to the community extends beyond manufacturing-related benefits. Since 2007, our employee-led Sharing Tree campaign has provided gifts, clothing, more than 60,000 pounds of food and sponsored 170 children throughout Fillmore County.
What started as a small employee initiative has grown into a tradition that showcases the generosity of our team. Each year, employees come together to support local food shelves, community organizations, and families who need a helping hand.
